Dean’s Welcome

Kathy Duncan PortraitWelcome to the College of Health and Community Well-Being! We are delighted to welcome you to the newest college at the University of La Verne. We have connected outstanding faculty from across the university to provide programs that approach health and mental health issues from uniquely holistic and culturally relevant perspectives. The mission of the college is to educate diverse, highly competent, and compassionate health professionals to address 21st century health and mental health care needs. As strong demand continues for health and mental health care professionals, our students are prepared to enter the job market with practical skills, field knowledge, and expanded perspectives on socio-cultural determinants of health/mental health and ways individual and social factors can both limit and enhance well-being. Undergraduate degrees are offered in Health Administration, Kinesiology and Psychology, and graduate degree programs include Athletic Training, Child Life (work with children and families affected by medical hardship), Clinical Psychology, Health Administration, and Marriage and Family Therapy. Additional programs are currently being developed.
