Required Immunizations and Physical Exam

PA students are required to have proof of immunization prior to matriculation based on the current Center for Disease Control Recommendations for health professionals. Additionally, students are expected to submit updated immunizations each year as required by program.

Additional Immunizations for Clinical year

PA students will be required to have either a two-step TB skin test OR a QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT-G) blood test prior to clinical rotations, followed by annual screening. Students will be required to have a Flu Shot annually during clinical rotations. Students may be required to have a serum titer to check immune status for Varicella, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps and Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C antibodies prior to clinical rotations.

Required Physical Examination

PA students are required to have a physical examination prior to matriculation in the program.

Health information and physical exam forms will be included in acceptance packet sent to accepted students. Health information and physical exam forms will not be accessible by PA program faculty.

PA program faculty cannot and will not serve as health care providers for students and provide health care advice or fill out health information forms.

NOTE:  The required deadlines and specific immunizations will be stated in acceptance packet sent to students when they are accepted into the program.
