Concentrations

University of La Verne students may select a set of elective courses or a concentration addressing their individual career objectives.

 

Leadership & Management Concentration The coursework for this concentration is tailored to entry and mid-level managers in contemporary health services organizations. Students will develop essential skills in strategic planning, marketing, human resources, and information management while also enhancing their personal and professional growth.
Financial Management Concentration This concentration develops the in-depth knowledge, skills, and techniques health services professionals need to manage the financial, budgetary, and cost-containment challenges of their departments, programs, units, and delivery systems.
Public Health Concentration This concentration covers disease prevention and health promotion initiatives tailored for the population level. Coursework examines the consequences of urban design for public health and applied research for public health professionals, contextualizing the relevance of public health policy for health services practitioners.
Long Term Care Administration Concentration
This concentration focuses on administrative and staffing functions relating to clients, community, public policy, programming, state and federal laws, and financing for nursing home management and assisted living services. Coursework examines post-acute care issues related to seamless transitions along the continuum of patient care.
