Concentrations

University of La Verne students may select a set of elective courses or a concentration addressing their individual career objectives.

Financial Management Concentration Designed to provide health services professionals with the in-depth knowledge, skills, and techniques to better manage the financial, budgetary, and cost-containment challenges of their departments, programs, units, and delivery systems.
Public Health Concentration Public health refers to all organized measures (whether public or private) to prevent disease, promote health, and prolong life among the population as a whole. Its activities aim to provide conditions in which people can be healthy and focus on entire populations, not on individual patients or diseases. Thus, public health is concerned with the total system and not only the eradication of a particular disease.
Long Term Care Administration Concentration Examines administrative and staffing functions relating to clients, community, public policy, programming, state and federal laws, and financing for nursing home management and assisted living services. Examines post-acute care issues related to seamless transitions along the continuum of patient care.
