MFT Professor of Practice Search

The University of La Verne’s MFT program invites applications for one full-time, Professor of Practice (non tenure-track) to begin with the 2025-2026 academic year.  

Minimum qualifications for the position: 

  • Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, or a related degree area.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience.

Preferred qualifications include: 

  • LMFT, LPCC, or other clinical mental health licensure or license eligible in California.
  • Doctoral degree in related area.
  • Graduate teaching experience.

Specific duties include: 

  • Teaching 8 courses (24 SH) per year in the MFT program in the areas of program need;  
  • Service on committees in the program, college, and university.  

Non-tenure track (NTT) faculty are expected to contribute mainly through teaching and assigned program-related duties such as assisting in admission interviews and attending program meetings. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching eight courses (24 SH) per year in the MFT program. Faculty must complete all assigned duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and university core values.
