Since 1973, at University of La Verne, Marriage and Family Therapy MS Program, our mission is to provide a rigorous and comprehensive education that prepares students to become highly skilled Marriage and Family Therapy practitioners. We believe in the transformative power of both extensive clinical experience and academic studies, equipping our graduates to deliver therapeutic services and facilitate transformative processes with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusivity in various professional settings.<\/p>\n
Our 62-credit program, spanning approximately 3 years, commences in the Fall, offering students a structured and immersive learning journey.<\/p>\n
Classes typically meet in the late afternoon (4:00-6:25 pm) or evening (6:50-9:15 pm), Mondays and Wednesdays, providing flexibility for students to balance their academic pursuits with other commitments. Students engaged in Fieldwork will complete a minimum of 225 hours at an approved site.<\/p>\n
The program meets all current Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) academic requirements for Marriage and Family Therapist licensure (LMFT) in California.<\/p>\n
In alignment with our commitment to excellence, we are regionally accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission, ensuring the highest standards of education and preparing our graduates for successful careers in Marriage and Family Therapy.<\/p>\n

Students pursuing licensure in other states are responsible for verifying compliance with their respective state’s regulations.
